We are delighted to invite your students to participate in the upcoming Piano Weekend at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, featuring renowned pianist and pedagogue Boris Berman, Chair of Piano Studies at Yale University.

We are holding three different competitions, focusing on the Baroque and Classical periods, as well as works by Chopin. These events are dedicated to the memory of three important musicians:

Kenneth Cooper (1941-2021), a preeminent American harpsichordist and scholar of Baroque music;

Anna Kantor (1923-2021), a noted Russian piano pedagogue, whose students included Evgeny Kissin;

Patricia Misslin (1940-2021), a leading American voice teacher, whose students included Renée Fleming and Stephanie Blythe.

The application and the participants fees are due Sunday, November 1, 2026.

By attending, participants grant UNCSA the right to use any images or recordings of them taken during the event. These may be used for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes including in university-related publications, promotional materials, websites, and official social media channels. If any participant does not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform event staff at check-in.
